- Nelson Mandela was born on 18th July 1918 in South Africa.
- Nelson Mandela was the symbol of protest against inequality, injustice, and apartheid.
- He was the first Black African Lawyer.
- He soon gave up as a lawyer and joined the African National Congress.
- He was involved in the struggle against apartheid.
- In 1962 he was put behind the bars by Apartheid Government and sentenced to life in prison but after 27 years.
- He was released from jail on 11Th February 1990.
- He became the president of South Africa from 1994-1999.
- He won the rights of black people in South Africa.
- He was also the first Black president of South Africa.
- He died on 5th December 2013 Aged 95.
- Nelson Mandela received over 250 prizes including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize, The US Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Bharat Ratna.
- One of his famous quotes is: “A Winner is a Dreamer who never gives up”.
